On March 31, 2026, we identified an issue that caused a small percentage of translations generated by the TranslatePress AI translator to fail. In affected cases, translations were stored with the placeholder text __OPENROUTER_FAILED__ instead of the correct translation.
Our team investigated the issue immediately after it was discovered and deployed a fix to the TranslatePress AI engine. The problem has now been fully resolved and will not affect newly generated translations.
For websites that may have stored failed translations during the incident, we released an automatic cleanup mechanism in version 3.1.4 of TranslatePress – Multilingual. Updating to the latest version ensures that any incorrect entries are safely removed and regenerated.
